Latest…

2 weeks to go and it’s “hello bumness” again. Well I don’t plan of being unemployed for a long period of time. However, it dawned on me how hard it is to look for a job. Well if you go to a job search site you’d see hundreds of openings, but you can hardly find one that fits your qualifications. Hmm. Bummer. But I’m not losing hope. I do have a lot of choices. I just don’t want to continue doing what I’m doing now. I’m just a bit sad that I didn’t practice my degree right after college. Things would’ve been different. Way different. But no regrets. I gained friends (and enemies…? no…) in the industry and well… that’s just about it. Nah. I learned a lot working in a Korean company/ies. I just never imagined I’d get tired of doing this. Maybe it’s because it’s not what I’m built for. In today’s economy I know we don’t have the luxury of following our hearts when it comes to work. We just need to earn those moolahs. Anyhoo… I trust God that He’ll bring me to a new place where I can learn and earn. Hmmm… really nice combination. I love it.

Meanwhile, the Bantugan household is busy preparing for Doi and Shelly’s wedding. So trips to Divi are getting more common now. It’s good exercise though. :) I already had my fitting yesterday. Hope I’d get to shed off some pounds before August. Which reminds me… I need to wear those running shoes and START running!

In lieu of Sheli’s wedding… here’s an article I found in the net… hmmm…

Like many brides-to-be planning their big day, you may have a wedding or events planner to help you out, or you may not–either way, we’re sure you want to stay involved in the coordination and organization, from the initial stages of planning your overall theme, to settling on a church and reception venue, to choosing the menu and the mementoes. That’s where Bridalbook.ph comes in. Bridalbook not only gives you a broad listing of all the suppliers and contacts you’ll need to plan a successful (and affordable!) wedding, it also gives you inspiration and ideas through its many photo galleries of real weddings, with detailed photos of gowns, invitations, centerpieces, giveaways, floral arrangements, and the ceremonies themselves! The site is also geared towards soliciting content from its users, which means you can get honest evaluations and reviews from those who have been in the (wedding) trenches and know what things matter most to a bride-to-be.

feeling first time

I have a “first-day-of-work” feeling today.
It’s my first day to work with a normal schedule.

9-6 pm.

And I am so blessed because it’s a holiday today. Araw ng Kagitingan.
There’s no Monday traffic jam. Yipee!

But… I don’t have a desk yet. Oh!~ I do! I just don’t have a computer (I’m an informal settler in the interview room) and I’ll be sitting next to…
hay. Nevermind. I need to master the art of “can’t-you-see-i’m-busy” stance.

It’s all good, though. Steph and I are on the same floor, again, and almost with the same schedule. She used to be my regular dinner-date
at mickey dee’s when we were still on the same team.

I’ll miss my other students, though. Especially Andrew. =(

I still sound bad… like I swallowed a frog. Croak!
Too much oreo hot caramel sundae from last week.
I’m thinking of getting one later. Bwahahaha.

I miss Leah.

Kabute sa Cavite

mushroomburger. mushroomburger. mushroomburger. mushroomburger. mushroomburger. mushroomburger. MUSHROOM BURGER. MUSHROOM BURGER. MUSHROOM BURGER. MUSHROOM BURGER. MUSHROOM BURGERMUSHROOM BURGERMUSHROOM BURGERMUSHROOM BURGERMUSHROOM BURGERMUSHROOM BURGERMUSHROOM BURGER!

Finally, our craving for mushrrom burger was satisfied this weekend, thanks to Ara. Her thesis partner, Mau (who missed our first trip to Cavite) treated us to Dampa a week ago. Thankyouverymuch, girls!

The FuZion team went to Cavite this weekend for another FuZion Fest. It was successful. A lot of people came, and the bestest part about it… many accepted Christ! Sweet!

So the mushroom burger was just a side trip. But well… everything about it was just fun. We were blessed to have Choi and Eman with us to Cavite. Perstaym! Beracah and Bushfire also performed.

More about the side trip… I bought some barquillos which Juziel referred to as tabacco. Bwahahaha. Leah was also able to try the seesaw for the first time. I had to help her because Angel was so heavy on the other side. Hehehe.

Oh~ the van (I’m not sure if you call it as such… but it’s the new wheels that Ptr. Gil purchased) which Pastor Jun was driving almost got hit by a truck. But thank God ’twas just an almost. A very close almost.

Everybody did his part well in the concert. And though we were all tired, God sustained our strength to attend church the next day. Even the FuZion Sunday was extraordinary. God’s presence is just overwhleming. Once you get a taste of it… you’ll never get enough. Too bad only a few kids attended. I hope that those who missed out will be there next Sunday. ^^

Vinegar, anyone?

Last Satuday I turned into a crustacean. After staying under the sun for about 4 hours, my transformation was complete.

Yesterday was Juziel’s birthday and she had a pool party on Saturday. It was a good way to welcome summer. And the sun shone in all its glory that most of us who joined the party are “untouchables” now. A mere pat on our shoulders can cause excruciating pain. Hehehe. Exagerration. But it hurts… and it’s itchy… and in my case… it’s red.

So I need vinegar. According to Beakman, (y’know, that scientist with a super-teased hair in Beakman’s World) vinegar is a good remedy for sunburn. And yes, I believe him.

I never had sooo much fun swimming in a pool until last Saturday. We played ball with a moving ring, which is not really a ring because it ain’t round, but it had a hole so our make shift ball could go through it. Then we also played water-baseball. I couldn’t understand the game but I still played. Ha! The best part about it… we played by our own rules.

After our music team rehearsal in the evening, I met my former math teacher, Nestor Mercado, at Dencio’s Riverbanks. Of course… my other highschool classmates were there too. But Tara and Denise weren’t there so… boohoo.
It was fun, nonetheless. I was happy to see Sir Nestor. Haven’t seen him for almost 10 years, me thinks.

Good weekend.

***********************************

And something to be thankful to God about… My company already approved my request to have my schedule changed. Yeah! So my answer has been prayered! And according to Juziel, I should keep on answering. Hahaha.

Rush hour, here I come!

***********************************

And congratulations to Mau and Ara for getting a good score on their thesis defense. Way to go girls! ^^

Now I just need to figure out how to ask a silly question.

Sioplet… still special

I haven’t seen Magoi for quite some time. We used to have our bonding moments together on Sundays, but from the start of 2009, my weekends have been devoted to church stuff.

So I was really delighted when I saw her this afternoon! She grew smaller… she’s not so siopao anymore. Still cute, nonetheless. And she was sociable I almost skipped work just to play with her. Such an adorable kid.We don’t have recent pictures together. Hmph! Kuya Jeg said she’s more talkative now. Haaay… how I wish I can spend more time with her.

If I could ask God just one question..
Why aren’t you here with me… tunaaayt!?

Ok. New Radicals stopped singing.

Tomorrow is the 14th. Ha! Time to clean the house =)

I really don’t celebrate the 14th… but my students are spreading love in the air.

Isa.

My male student, Maclean, will propose to her girlfriend tonight in an (and he emphasized this) “expensive restaurant”. He is very nervousbecause he’s not sure if his girlfriend will be thrilled about the proposal. Can’t wait to talk to him again on Monday.

Dalawa.

Anabelle, my favorite female student, will get married tomorrow! I was able to talk to her fiance the other day, and he’sa cool guy. He actually took over the class. And he even surprised me when he greeted me “Magandang Gabi po!” Hehehe. Both of ‘em are teachers and Christians too. They’re an adorable couple. I’m soooo happy for them. ^^

Anabelle’s really sweet and so super fun to talk with. We share the same brain waves eventhough she’s seven years older than me, and we don’t share the same culture; we definitely click.

I miss her already. hehehe

Oh and on Tuesday… I’ll be able to attend FuZion. Yosh! We invited Kuya Jake and Ate Lillian to be our guest speakers, and they accepted. Yehey! I’m excited to see them again.. and to hear them speak!

Selah.

There are a lot of things happening since the start of 2009. I don’t have the words and the time to write ‘em down. But it’s been good. God is good. Super. And… there’s more to come! ~

God is surely expanding my heart as He add more people in my life. And He’s teaching me a lot even as I spend time with His other kids. Like sometimes I want to say… where have I been all my life? It’s just amazing. He’s turned my world upside down… right side up.

Yun.

Lifted

Been having a bad hair day…
Bad face day…
Bad nose day…

It’s that time of the month. Ugh!
I wanted to cry for no reason at all a while ago. Well… there’s a reason, but it’s too shallow.

Anyhu… I hope I can master this hormone-based emotions. Hehehe.

Oh, but God’s word is really alive and powerful. It’s effective even if you’re PMS-ing. Hehehe.

Psalms 3:3
But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. (NLT)

He just knows what I’d be needing for the day…

++Something to be excited about++

Kuya Cris is coming home! Yeah!
