It has been raining since this morning. I don’t see any sign of the sun making an appearance today.

Well but yesterday it rained super hard while I was still here in the office. Then the sun came out. But when I left the office and was about to go out of the gate I noticed that it was still raining. So I took out my pink umbrella. It served double purposes. First, it shaded me from the sun’s heat… and it kept me from getting wet.

I remember that when I was a kid older people (uncles, aunties) used to tell me that when it’s raining while the sun is shining… two mythical creatures are getting married. Those creatures are what we call here in the Philippines as Tikbalang. It’s like a centaur but it’s the other way around.. got that?

It also reminded me of Akira Kurosawa’s film about dreams… I’m not that familiar with his works though he’s really famous because in the field of filmmaking. When I had my AVP subeject back in college my teacher made us watch one of his films. It’s a compilation of short films about dreams. Of of which is entitled “Sunshine through the Rain”. Yeah it sounds like Mariah Carey’s song. Anyway… in that film they explained that whenever it is raining while the sun is shining… foxes are getting married. There was a creepy fox wedding procession there…. ah…. I forgot the rest of the story. I better check that one out again. It is a weird story… well because it’s a dream… and most dreams are weird. Here is the last scene of that film:

Well I got this short description of that story from the net

The first short is called Sunshine Through the Rain and tells the story of a young boy who ignores his mother’s warning and goes outside to play in the forest on a day when it is raining, yet the sun is shining. Mother claims that it is on these rare days that foxes have their wedding ceremonies in the woods and if they catch him there they will be very angry. Just as his mother predicts, the boy happens upon a fox marriage processional, which he watches for a few haunting, mystical moments, before running back home to discover his fate for disobeying his mother.

I have counselling today. Woo! I missed my group a lot. We haven’t seen each other for almost two weeks now.
