I wonder… was it impulsiveness or spontaneity?

Whatever. It was fun.

So it was Saturday. I woke up at 2pm because I slept really late reading Eclipse (the third book in the Twilight series). Oh, and I won’t finish reading it. I decided not too. So I just asked Ate Charlene (my sister-in-law) to tell me the ending of the story since she is a twilight-addict. Ha!

Angel and Leah got home earlier than I expected. I thought they had somewhere to go since it’s a Saturday. I’m not used to seeing them at home during weekends. Anyway, we were just talking and Angel was trying to convince me to stop reading so he can use my laptop. My Twilight copy is an e-book. I was still un-bathed at that time. Hehehe. I forget how our conversation turned to having a little out-of-town trip. But I was just bored… even getting a little bored with what I was reading. At least I was able to get my eyes off the monitor. We unanimously decided to go to Batangas since that’s the nearest place with some sand. I just suddenly had this strong desire to just dig my toes on some sand that I was giddy when Angel and Leah were ready to go as well. Actually while I was having my “breakfast” when I woke up at 2pm, we were talking about my planned trip up north on New Year’s day. I dunno why, but I’ve been wanting to go someplace…somewhere far. Alone. It has been in my wish list for the longest time.

It’s stupid to be traveling out of town when it’s almost midnight. Stupid and dangerous. But I had Angel and Leah with me. Without any clear destination, we hopped on a bus going to Baclaran. That would be our second stop. After getting some money from the ATM and buying some stuff in 7-11, we got on a bus going to Cavite. But before that we had a little “encounter” with a barker in Baclaran which took more than 30 mins of our time. We had to go to Coastal just to get a bus. I hate him. We finally arrived in Dasmarinas still without any idea where to get a ride. Well, Leah is from Cavite so we weren’t that blind. But the buses going to Nasugbu weren’t available anymore. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. We were waiting for a bus, but what we got was a jeepney. But it was a trip straight to Nasugbu so, fair enough. At first I thought the 100 pesos jeepney fare was ridiculous and a rip off. But the loooooooong ride justified it. Hehehe. I downed two cans of coffee and was really in need of a rest room when we got on the jeep. We had a stop over somewhere in Tagaytay because our jeepney driver said so. Hahaha. He slept. Well it was really dangerous to drive in a sleepy mode. Leah was able to fall asleep too. Only Angel and I were awake. Drinking coffee was a bad idea. I couldn’t get up and move around because I was afraid I won’t be able to control my bladder. I think our stop over was for an hour. I was getting restless and wanted to throw a fit coz I felt like our time was just being wasted. It irritated Angel. I could’ve handled the situation well if I didn’t drink coffee. When the jeepney finally rolled, I was just looking outside the entire ride. I was like a dog looking out a car window. Hehehe. Well, partly because I felt like I’d pee if move… but also because I love the cold wind on my face, and I could see some stars and a glimpse of the city lights. When we finally arrived in Nasugbu, our trusty jeepney driver handed us over to a tricycle driver with this instruction: “O, ihatid mo mga ito sa dagat”. Nice we were a stone’s throw away to our destination. Since we didn’t book for a place or anything, Angel just asked which of the resorts lined up is the best place. He recommended one and we went inside through the side entrance. They had some guests staying for the night and some were having karaoke singing. But nobody was there to entertain us. So Leah and I just looked for the rest room. That was a big relief. We got there at 5am. It wasn’t supposed to be a 6-hour long ride. But well… some people need some sleep. But I’d been awake for 16 hours. The coffee did work.

We left the resort to find another one since nobody was there to accommodate us. Good thing an “agent” was outside and of course was more than willing to help us. But had to walk a bit far. We were able to get a room though we only needed that so we could have a safe place to leave our valuables. I was too excited to hit the water and get some sand on my feet. I changed into my red shorts and went out. Angel and Leah bargained for a 30-minute nap. But I couldn’t sleep so I went out to have my devotion by the beach. The two followed soon after. We enjoyed the waves. There weren’t a lot of people so it was fun. But I wish my other brothers were there… or my other friends. Angel and Leah are always fun to hang out with, though it would’ve been funnest if we had more time in our hands and if others were there. I realized there should be quite a crowd of your friends and family if you are in the beach. The trip was fun nonetheless. I’d like to put emphasis on the trip though, since we spent most of our time on the road than lying on the beach. But it was a guh-rrreat experience. Since Angel and Leah had other things to attend too… and we didn’t put any sunblock, we decided not to stay long under the sun. We just took some pictures after playing with the waves so we could capture our spontaneous moment. Too bad, we couldn’t get a decent picture of us three. I was able to take a nap inside the bas going back to Manila and it gave me a back ache. I gave up and just stayed awake for the rest of the ride.

When I got to Roces, Margaux was there. She was in a better mood and had some crazy dancing… umm more like a head banging performance for us all. Such an adorable kid!

So. Coming up? Jogging somewhere north. I already made a reservation.
